CHEROKEE COUNTY — Two suspects were arrested late Tuesday following a residential burglary investigation in Canton, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Wednesday.
The arrests followed a two-week investigation that began after a homeowner reported tools and electronics missing from a garage off Marietta Highway. Investigators recovered most of the property and identified the suspects through pawn-shop records, the statement said.
Both suspects were booked into the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on charges of burglary in the first degree. They remained in custody Wednesday pending a first appearance, jail records showed.
The investigation is ongoing. Authorities asked anyone with additional information to contact the Sheriff’s Office tip line.
